Elegantly finished with fine woods, the Héritage3 turns uncompromising sonic fidelity into pleasure for ears and eyes.

Room under control: active bass trap AVAA C214

10 years ago, PSI Audio introduced an ingenious solution for the most challenging aspect of room acoustics: the Active Velocity Acoustic Absorber (AVAA) took care of low-frequency room modes. No massive amounts of porous materials. No complicated tuning of specialised absorbers. No restriction to a small sweet spot. The AVAA system acts like a hole in the wall, sucking out the unwanted resonant frequencies and taking the energy out of the room. At HIGH END 2026, visitors can experience the effect of the AVAA C214 for themselves.

LIVEBOX at HIGH END 2026: experience True Ambience technology from a single-box high-end system

LIVEBOX soundbar beneath a television on a lowboard, with a landscape image above on a gray wall in the living room

LIVEBOX invites visitors of HIGH END 2026 to experience the exhilarating sensation of its True Ambience technology. From 4th to 7th June 2026, audio enthusiasts can get an impression of what stereo can really sound like on Level 1, booth 1.70 of the Austria Center Vienna. The result of a cooperation between Weiss Engineering, PSI Audio, and Illusonic delivers the goosebumps of a great live performance in the listening and living rooms at home – without stereo tower speakers and a rack full of audio components. Members of the press are cordially invited to attend the press conference on Thursday, 4th June, 3 pm at the booth.

Live at home: the LIVEBOX sound experience

LIVEBOX is an entirely new way of experiencing music, utilizing the innovative True Ambience technology to create a stereo image like no other – impressively wide, outstandingly detailed, breathtakingly immersive. It operates on the principle of crosstalk cancellation: sound from the right speakers is cancelled for the left ear and vice versa. While the technology is very complex and based on the combination of intricate digital electronics, impeccable analogue speaker design, and precisely honed algorithms, the LIVEBOX remains very simple for the listener: one box, everything included. The authentic, live-like performance of a full concert, caught and transferred into the living room; that is LIVEBOX. Live at home.

Tuned for you: sound tailored to the room

No sound system ever plays by itself; it’s always playing in a room. So while LIVEBOX is designed to sound great as is, it also features options to tailor its output to the room it is used in. LIVEBOX offers the service to set up the system on site for optimal results, taking into account the specifics of the physical space as well as personal preferences regarding the tonal balance. LIVEBOX is literally tuned for you.

Made to fit: the fully customisable music system

The sound is the most important aspect of a music system, of course, but it is by no means its only aspect. To perfectly integrate LIVEBOX into any space, it can be painted almost any colour, allowing it to visually disappear or stand out, depending on personal preference. LIVEBOX is made to fit.

Swiss connection: specialized to perfection

To achieve the marvel that is LIVEBOX took the expertise of three renowned Swiss manufacturers, each the best in their respective fields. Weiss Engineering is a pioneer of digital audio technology, particularly revered among high-end mastering engineers, but also well-established in the discerning audiophile scene. PSI Audio is well-known among both professionals and audiophiles for astounding all-analogue speakers that deliver absolute sonic fidelity. Illusonic has been a leading developer in audio innovation, including psychoacoustics and human perception, and has provided innovative solutions to other manufacturers for 20 years. Together, these three companies present the pinnacle of Swiss ingenuity in the form of LIVEBOX.

Experience LIVEBOX at HIGH END 2026

Uncompromising Bass from Velodyne Acoustics: The 1824 Is coming!

Velodyne Acoustics 1824 subwoofer with large woofer, black enclosure and V-shaped protective grille in the dark

Velodyne Acoustics is announcing a product that already stands outside the usual scale even before its official debut: the 1824. The first ideas for this limited statement subwoofer took shape around 40 years of Velodyne Acoustics and grew into a project where, in the end, the calendar no longer mattered. Only the result did.

For now, Velodyne Acoustics is deliberately showing the 1824 only in selected glimpses. The full product presentation, including all details, will follow at the official premiere at High End Vienna 2026.

The name of the new subwoofer already carries its technical concept: 1824 stands for an 18-inch and a 24-inch driver in one shared enclosure. The system is powered by three amplifier modules delivering a combined 6,000 watts RMS and 10,000 watts peak power. Low-frequency extension reaches down to 7 Hz.

Yet the 1824 is not intended as a mere demonstration of power. Velodyne Acoustics has always understood deep bass not as an effect, but as a controlled foundation for music, cinema, and immersive playback. It is from precisely this attitude that a subwoofer emerged whose power is not an end in itself. What matters in this exceptional subwoofer is headroom, composure, and absolute precision.

An Exceptional Project Built on More Than 40 Years of Low-Frequency Expertise

The original idea behind the 1824 was rooted in the more than 40-year history of Velodyne Acoustics. Such an anniversary could have led to a conventional special edition. But the initial impulse became a much larger project. The 1824 was not meant to arrive simply on time. It was meant to embody what defines Velodyne Acoustics at its core: controlled, deep-reaching, and sovereign bass.

Mansour Mamaghani, CEO of Velodyne Acoustics: “The 1824 was never intended as an answer to a gap in the market. It is big, uncompromising, and maybe even a little crazy. That is exactly what makes it so special. Originally, it was meant to be presented for the 40th anniversary of Velodyne Acoustics, but with a product like this, the point is not to mark an anniversary on time. It is to translate four decades of experience in controlled low-frequency reproduction into a technical statement. To do that, power, enclosure design, electronics, tuning, and handling all had to come together without compromise. This subwoofer project has been with us for a long time, and it has challenged us as well. The calendar gave us the impulse, but the result had to be perfect. That makes it all the more special for for the entire team and me to present the 1824 for the first time at High End in Vienna, knowing that it does not merely meet expectations, but exceeds them.”

Size with a Purpose

At roughly 350 kilograms, the Velodyne Acoustics 1824 is a subwoofer beyond ordinary dimensions. At the same time, its enclosure has been designed to be as compact as possible. Handles are integrated into the design, and dedicated wheeled lifters are supplied. As a result, even a product in this class remains as manageable as possible in real installations, from transport to final positioning in the room.

Inside, the latest generation of Velodyne Acoustics electronics is at work. The calibration system has been realized through a newly developed app and is designed to precisely adapt the 1824 to the room, the loudspeakers, and personal listening preferences. In this way, even the sheer power of this subwoofer remains controllable in any room.

Limited to 50 Units

The Velodyne Acoustics 1824 will be limited to just 50 units worldwide. Each unit receives an individual plaque bearing the name of its owner. This makes the 1824 not only the new top-of-the-line model from Velodyne Acoustics, but also a personal piece of brand history.

Premiere at High End Vienna 2026

The Velodyne Acoustics 1824 will celebrate its official premiere at High End Vienna 2026, where it will be presented as part of the Audio Reference press conference.

Until then, the 1824 will remain a deliberate promise from the depths: uncompromising in concept, limited in production, and developed for precise low-frequency performance that is not about being louder at any cost.

PSI Audio A326 D-REX gains LFE capabilities through panel update

PSI Audio enhances the A326 D-REX Dynamic Range Extender for the A226-MAIN monitor speakers with an additional LFE input section. The new feature allows for using the full-range system in immersive and cinematic setups without the need for an additional LFE. The electronics combine the input from the stereo inputs and the LFE input and reproduce the sum total of the low-frequency signal.

Full-spectrum power: A226-MAIN and A326 D-REX

The PSI Audio A326 D-REX is not a subwoofer in the conventional sense; it was designed to work in tandem with the A226-MAIN high-end monitors to optimize its dynamic capabilities. Hence the name: Dynamic Range EXtender. Together, the A226-MAIN and A326 D-REX present the largest system PSI Audio has ever created, delivering the company’s trademark sonic accuracy in its most accomplished form. The latest update allows the combination to also perform perfectly in cinematic contexts – without the need for an additional LFE.

Added connectibility: LFE inputs for A326 D-REX

While the PSI Audio A326 D-REX was developed to support the A226-MAIN and further refine its dynamic response, it has all the technical capabilities to act as an LFE in immersive setups. With a frequency range from 20 Hz to 160 Hz and 126 dB peak sound pressure, the A326 D-REX actually meets the standards for Dolby Atmos. To harness this potential, PSI Audio updates the electronics slightly and adds an LFE connector section to the panel. The LFE signal can be fed in separately from the stereo signal, and the Link output can pass the input signal on to another LFE, for example. The signal level can be adjusted from -10 to +10 dB, which also affects the signal passed forward. When both the LFE input and the stereo inputs are used, the A326 D-REX sums the signals and reproduces the entirety of the low-frequency range.

Precision monitoring: the PSI Audio experience

PSI Audio stands for absolute sonic fidelity: all the various monitor speakers are designed to reproduce audio exactly as it is, with no colouration or distortion of any kind. The A326 D-REX expands this philosophy to the LFE channels of cinematic productions, allowing audio professionals and creators to accurately assess the impact of their low-frequency content, be it for film, music, or any other audio application.

Swiss precision manufacture

In order to achieve the ideal of perfectly unaltered audio reproduction, PSI Audio develops and builds all speakers in the company’s own workshop in Yverdon-les-Bains in Switzerland. From the careful selection of components all the way to the final measurements in the anechoic chamber, every step is taken by well-trained specialists to ensure outstanding quality in sound and craftsmanship. As a testament to the manufacturer’s meticulosity, every speaker comes with its very own measuring graph.

Availability

The PSI Audio A326 D-REX is already being shipped with the new LFE panel; every A326 D-REX going forward will automatically feature the LFE input.

Pro Audio Bricks: Lake People and Manikin Electronic present compact master clock and USB isolator

Two compact Lake People pro audio devices on a table: a 10MHz reference clock generator and a USB isolator with ports and status LEDs in a studio setting.

Lake People and Manikin Electronic co-develop Pro Audio Bricks, a series of compact problem solvers for a variety of every-day audio applications. Two products will be available from May already: the 10MHz4Reference master clock delivers highly precise digital clocking through an OCXO (Oven-Controlled Crystal Oscillator) for perfect sound results in digital systems, while the Isolator4USB electrically isolates between USB device and host to eliminate interference and drop-outs. Both devices are built into sturdy housings by Lake People, making the Pro Audio Bricks essential companions for audio professionals.

Pro Audio Bricks: real problem solvers for professionals

Lake People and Manikin have co-developed a number of specialized solutions for studio and audio production environments to combat typical challenges of working with audio. Two problem solvers will be available from May already: the precision master clock 10MHz4Reference and the USB isolator Isolator4USB. A whole host of additional products are currently being prepared. Their compact format makes the Pro Audio Bricks perfect for travelling. Their solid, road-worthy craftsmanship ensures they will perform even after years on duty.

10MHz4Reference sets the pace

The Lake People Pro Audio Brick 10MHz4Reference master clock offers secure clocking for digital systems. The importance of a stable clocking signal for the sonic integrity of digital audio is unquestionable; the 10MHz4Reference delivers this central clock. The Oven-Controlled Crystal Oscillator (OCXO) delivers high clocking precision, minimum phase noise and outstanding long-term stability. The outputs are realized with 50 ohms and 75 ohms to be able to connect to any audio device with corresponding reference inputs. The galvanic isolation prevents low-frequency interference through ground loops. Through all of this, the 10MHz4Reference elevates digital audio systems to a new level.

Isolator4USB protects the data flow

The Lake People Pro Audio Brick Isolator4USB is a rare type of device. You could call it a DI box for USB connections: the data line and power supply between USB host and USB device are separated through a powerful USB isolation chip in combination with a DC/DC converter. The galvanic isolation prevents unwanted electrical interference, significantly enhancing signal quality. Crackling or drop-outs can be effectively eliminated, making the Isolator4USB an indispensable tool in all situations that require reliable, interference-free USB transmission.

PSI Audio at AXPONA 2026 with Héritage3, A17-M, and AVAA C214

AXPONA (Audio Expo North America) banner by PSI Audio inviting visitors to a unique listening experience in Room 1139, featuring Héritage3 active speakers and active bass traps, with room photos.

At AXPONA 2026, PSI Audio will exhibit in room 1139 of the Schaumburg Convention Center in Chicago, Illinois. The Swiss manufacturer will present the floor-standing high-end speaker system Héritage3, the outstanding A17-M bookshelf speaker, and the revolutionary active bass trap AVAA C214.

Professional fidelity for home audio: Héritage3

The PSI Audio Héritage3 is the culmination of over 45 years of speaker expertise, combined with an uncompromising approach to home audio. Using established proprietary technology like AOI (Adaptive Output Impedance) and CPR (Compensated Phase Response), the Héritage3 draws from the manufacturer’s renowned professional audio accomplishments and pours them into a unique circuitry and design to bring absolute sound fidelity to audiophile listening rooms. Its unmatched transparency, authenticity, and stereo image are as pleasing to the ears as its elegant wood finish is to the eyes.

Bookshelf speaker perfection: A17-M

For those looking for a more compact solution still adhering to the PSI Audio principle of absolute audio fidelity, PSI Audio exhibits the A17-M at AXPONA 2026. The compact speaker delivers a breathtakingly lively, dynamic, and transparent sonic landscape with low end reaching further down and remaining tighter than one would usually expect from a speaker this size. The A17-M, like all PSI Audio products, was designed to accurately represent recordings of any type, and it certainly packs a punch in terms of power and sound pressure output.

The end of room modes: AVAA C214

Perhaps the most famous development from PSI Audio, the Active Velocity Acoustic Absorber AVAA has revolutionized room acoustics. The AVAA C214 acts as an acoustic hole in the wall, sucking out unwanted energy in the frequency range from 15 Hz to 160 Hz. The result is a much clearer sound image in the entire room, as the AVAA principle is not based on anti-sound and its effect is not restricted to a small sweet spot. With its sleek, compact design, it fits into virtually any room – it can even be mounted to walls or ceilings.

Lake People celebrates 40 years of audio quality made in Germany

Lake People “40 Years – Tools, not Toys” V6HP headphone amplifier with level knobs and multiple headphone outputs, shown as professional studio gear.

40 years Lake People, 40 years “Tools, not toys”, 40 years innovative technology for demanding applications. In addition to looking back on the successful company history, it’s worth looking into the future, as 2026 will have many reasons for Lake People to celebrate.

Professional audio technology since 1986

In 1986, Fried Reim founds Lake People in Constance, and presents the company’s first innovation that same year: the Phone-Amp V6 is the first decentralized headphone amplifier for recording studios. Next comes a whole host of products for discerning audio professionals, for example the first German 20 bit converter in 1991. This tradition of high-quality studio technology continues until today, as evident in headphone amplifiers like the G103, monitor controllers like the MC100, and mic preamps like the F355.

From the studio to the living room: Violectric

Following continued requests from the hifi scene, the brand Violectric is introduced in 2009. The approach is similar to that of Lake People: achieving the best possible transmission of audio through outstanding engineering. Violectric addresses home users with specific features and refined design: headphone amplifiers like the HPA V324, audio centres like the DHA V590-2, and phono preamps like the PPA V790. In the high-end segment, the Niimbus products mark the limits of what is technically possible.

Innovative technology for ultimate listening

Over the years, Lake People has developed technologies and circuits that are unique to the products from the manufacture. Its most renowned innovation is likely the Pre-Gain circuit, which allows tailoring a headphone amplifier to the electrical parameters of a pair of headphones. Other important, recurring features include the high internal operating voltage, the high damping factor, the purposefully limited frequency response, and the protective relays for powering the devices on and off. All these well thought-out developments make Lake People products safer and more practical. They never become an end in themselves, but always serve the quality of the listening experience. Fried Reim has compiled the expertise gained from his developments in his “Headphone Amplifier Cookbook”, which is available for free: The Headphone Amplifier Cookbook

The Lake People quality pledge

The excellent renown of Lake People and Violectric is rooted partly in the sophisticated technology, but also in the perceptible quality of all the products. Every Lake People device is developed in Germany and built by hand in the company’s own workshop in the Bavarian city of Gauting. Each and every one is being checked technically and acoustically, making sure that every product adheres to the Lake People claim to quality.

Development continues: upcoming “Tools, not toys”

Upon occasion of Lake People’s 40th anniversary, it makes sense to look back on the company’s history. However, it is equally rewarding to look ahead, as the future has a lot in store: the new, ultra-compact monitor controller MC10 has already been introduced at NAMM and ISE. The year of its 40th anniversary is more to Lake People than a chance to look back on its history – it is also a chance to add to it, as multiple products are already being prepared to launch.

Tetsuya Hori takes Franz Schubert’s “Winterreise” and translates its emotional motifs into a contemporary immersive sound language between Neoclassical and Ambient. He reinterprets Schubert’s work and finds – hope, expressed as a vivid pulse beneath the captivating sonic images of piano and strings.

Curated label with long-term vision

“Winterreise Echoes” embodies the new label’s direction: supporting artistic visions that transform music from an acoustic event to an immersive experience. Immersive Lab Records is not a typical label for the masses, but a curated platform for artists who realize sound as spatial and emotional experiences. The label’s long-term vision is to establish immersive music as an independent artistic form beyond short-lived trends.

Available via streaming

“Between Breaths” by Tetsuya Hori is available immediately in Dolby Atmos at Apple Music, Tidal, and Amazon, and in Auro-3D at AuroMasters. The album “Winterreise Echoes” will follow on 18th February.
