21st January 2025 – Sharp has radio in its blood – and is celebrating the launch of the new “Osaka” radio family with the release of the Sharp DR-P520 “Osaka” pocket/handheld radio! With the launch of this new radio range, Sharp is drawing on many years of experience and expertise as an established manufacturer of radio devices. The DR-P520 pocket/handheld radio comes with numerous modern features such as BestTuneTM and SlideShow technology, Bluetooth connectivity and generous station memory – all in a compact and portable package.

The Sharp DR-P520 pocket/handheld radio will be the first thing you pack for your next picnic or camping trip. Thanks to its extremely compact design, the digital radio takes up very little space and can easily be carried in your pocket; the keylock switch will prevent the buttons from being pressed as you move around. Thanks to the practical carrying strap, and fold-away aerial, this space-saving digital radio can always be with you in just a few simple steps. Listen to some music through the built-in speaker whilst on a picnic or connect to the 3.5mm headphone jack to listen to commentary whilst at the game, the built-in rechargeable Lithium-ion battery pack will provide up to 12 hours playtime.
FM, DAB or DAB+ – why not just have it all?
Whether rock, pop, classical music or the latest news: With the Sharp DR-P520 pocket/handheld radio, there are virtually no limits to the choice of programs. Thanks to the innovative BestTune™ technology, FM, DAB, and DAB+ stations are seamlessly combined into a single, easy-to-navigate list. The digital radio automatically selects the best signal for optimal listening and removes duplicate listings, simplifying your station selection for the best listening experience. Found a favorite station? It only takes a few steps to save it in the generous station list. There is space for 40 BestTune, 40 DAB and 40 FM stations.
The Sharp DR-P520 pocket/handheld radio is also able to receive additional SlideShow image metadata, content that is sometimes broadcast by DAB+ stations. This could be weather information, album covers, station/show info or any other image that the station chooses – all information is clearly displayed on the 2-inch color display. The color display can also be individually adjusted using the practical dimming function.

With Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity, the DR-P520 doubles as a portable Bluetooth speaker! Connect your mobile device to the radio quickly and easily to stream music wirelessly from your favorite service. This compact all-rounder also becomes a useful alarm clock when on the go thanks to the dual alarm function. The digital radio is powered via a built-in rechargeable Lithium-ion battery or via USB-C (which also recharges the battery).
